If you no longer feel the desire to be connected but there is a part of you that knows that is what you need, the ask for the desire to manifest for you. Your inner self is ALWAYS there and waiting for you/us to seek that which you need. If you make the first step, help will reach across space and time to raise you up. The more this happens the more faith and inspiration grow and you find yourself on your own true path. "Experience The Magic" Jerry L. Those moments when I'm "down for the count," it's beyond me to conjure up a higher-minded, more spiritual thought if I tried. Hope and clarity are gone. I feel completely out of reach from the Source. I used to believe that in challenging times, when feeling abandoned by God, that I was being ignored (or punished!) for something I'd done, or maybe wasn't deserving, wasn't good enough. How wrong I was. The Source is always there. Here's an analogy I like to use: When we're feeling lost and alone, it's as if we're hidden away, far down in a very dark basement. No one find us. No one cares. There's no hope, no answers. Finally, in desperation we call out, "DEAR GOD, WHERE ARE YOU????' A voice answers, "UP HERE! IN THE LOBBY!" For centuries, religion has preached that if we confess our sinfulness, self-flagellate and deem ourselves humble and lowly enough, then maybe, just maybe,....God will bless us and hear our prayers. And all this time, the Source simply could not find us! Lost in our emotions of despair, fear and distrust, it was that mindset that turned us away from any illumination and dropped us down into the basement. It took us out of the beam. Who knew? Whenever I find myself in one (or more!) of those difficult moments, the instant that I simply remember to come back into the present--and away from my thoughts of past regrets or future fears--I then concentrate on switching them over to those of gratitude or appreciation. Then, voila! As if by magic, I'm back in the beam. The phone rings. It's a call from someone who's reaching out. Or suddenly, I'm hit with inspiration or an insight that leads to a brilliant solution. I feel loved. Life is good. I'm back in sync. I'm back in the beam. It was fear that pushed me out of the beam, far away to where the Source couldn't find me to deliver cosmic winks and serendipitous synchronicities. Or sometimes, I realize that it was (what I call) my "Edith Ego" who had grabbed the wheel, desperate and determined to take control. Conjuring up feelings of appreciation and gratitude--for anything that I can think of!---hands the wheel back to God, an energy that never, never, never stopped loving me. Log in to post comments Purpose This is not random. We are here for a purpose. Everything that happens to us happens for a reason. The Divine is always with us, giving us what we need. A physician may give you some awful medicine or prescribe a treatment that is anything but enjoyable. The point is to make you well so you can live your life 'normally'. In the same way, as we walk down the path of life, we may tend to wander. As we stray from the path we get out of harmony with Life. The Divine is constantly providing us with the lessons necessary to keep us in tune. I practice meditation and I find that making a larger effort when I am feeling uninspired [out of tune], is the time that seems to benefit me the most. The good news is, when trials and tribulations present themselves, through right effort and paying attention to what is happening, I usually find myself in a much better place when the hardships pass than I was in before they started. If we learn from the lessons that life has for us, life becomes easier and we become happier. As we grow, the Purpose of Life becomes clear. Pretty satisfying, eh 'wot? much love Louise Log in to post comments responding to Back in the Beam submission this was very helpful analogy. thank you for sharing your thoughts Log in to post comments Empowerment Log in to post comments Sometimes I get so far from the path that I just can't find my way back.
