I've been meeting with clients, many of whom express frustration, despair, and a lack of hope for their future. No wonder! In this crazy world, it's hard to know who—or what— to trust. It takes work to figure out what's real, what's manufactured to entice (or to induce fear or outrage), and what is completely made up.
We all crave kindness, honesty, and authenticity from those we believe we can trust, and feel disappointed when they don't deliver, or when things don't work out the way we expect.
We've all been there. We've been trying to do everything right, but it feels like we've done it all wrong. We've put in all this effort, yet for some reason, we're missing the boat. We feel incapable and can't figure it out.
I hear these clients say, "This isn't how I expected my life would be!"
Believe it or not, these feelings and thoughts are actually clues that you're headed for a breakthrough. By design, we're taught to buy into consensus reality, standards set by others that define our success—good grades, beauty, wealth, and, for some, fame. We begin to believe that all the goals we work toward will convince the world of our specialness.
(Yeah, right.)
Expectations are misleading
Our ego-self plays a big part in our illusions. It insists upon imposing its agenda and cannot tolerate the unexpected or the unknown. This can lead us to cling to rigid expectations that impede true growth.
We hear the ego-self's thoughts in our heads, loudly rehearsing the perfect conversation to JUST SHOW THAT OTHER PERSON, convince them how misguided THEY are, and win them over to OUR "more enlightened," imposing beliefs or point of view.
The ego-self elevates itself by diminishing others, and subscribes fully to all that is divisive and polarizing—always seeing the world in terms of 'them's and us's, which only fortifies our illusions.
While some people on a spiritual path may call for annihilation of the ego-self, we need our ego-self to fully play out the role of a perceived individual, an individual, separate 'self.' The trick is to detach from our ego-self's destructive narrative—before we start to define ourselves by it!
When Things Don't Turn Out
Do not despair! All that makes you feel disillusioned and hopeless serves to move you beyond the illusion. When the dark appears to become darker, focus on the Light, and it, and you, will shine brighter—becoming all the more illuminating, discerning, and compelling. You'll find yourself in a new, more vibrant reality, exploring more enlightening and unifying solutions, and experiencing Divine energy flowing through you in wonderful, creative ways.
Disillusionment isn't a bad thing; in fact, it can even be predictable when viewed from a broader perspective. We're here to evolve through immense challenges. Each time we overcome various obstacles, we gather gifts of insight and wisdom that serve us on our path here and propel us forward throughout eternity.
Feeling disillusioned prompts us to ask deeper questions beyond the everyday "What can I get?" Have? Do? Challenges help us, at least for a while, to curb the idea that our things or our perceived place in the pecking order define who we are. When things get real, and we ask the deeper questions, we get glimpses into the reality that we are so much more than our physical possessions or our physical bodies. Who we are extends way beyond the limitations of this physical reality.
Our expansive, timeless soul-energy is only temporarily encased in this physical body, shuffling around on Planet Earth. We learn through this physical experience to distinguish between illusion and reality, and between darkness and illumination. Indeed, like it or not, we learn best by contrast.
So what, exactly, is our deeper purpose?
Our deeper purpose becomes evident after a couple of whallops from these challenges, so long as we don't shut down. As the Light grows increasingly compelling, we begin to move from head to heart. The heart frequency connects us to our physical world and to our multidimensional nature.
Intuition also becomes more powerful when we begin to regularly shift from the intellectualizing, rational mind to our child-self's heartfelt imagination, daydreams, and creativity —all in sync with Divine energy and entering through the heart.
Intuitively, we become acquainted with our true, timeless nature as we begin to perceive beyond linear time and embrace a much larger picture unfolding.
Disillusionment signals to you that something greater is unfolding beyond the illusion.
You're not alone. Almost all of us are bemoaning that 'things are not like they used to be.' Feeling impatient, judgmental, unforgiving, tired, depressed, or anxious can all be symptomatic of our illusions crumbling. All this can manifest in heavy physical sensations, insomnia, worry, or dread. Using tools like meditation, walking in nature, singing, or reaching out to others helps manage these emotions and keeps us grounded.
We are energy, and we oscillate at different frequencies.
Higher frequencies attract like frequencies. Think of the times you meet someone new and instantly feel a connection. You might even say, "Hey, it feels like we're on the same frequency!" Believe it or not, this is an intuitive sensing that you are oscillating at the same frequency.
In times ahead, less distracted by old worries, you'll notice yourself drawn to others at the same higher frequency. You'll be confident that you're participating in a new, emerging, uplifting reality. You'll attract and connect with others who also seek honesty, kindness, and authenticity.
You are meant for this. Stay tuned, stay hopeful, and don't give up—your journey is contributing to a brighter, more aligned future for all!
There is awesome love and eternal life—that exists way beyond this illusion we're here to play out.
