Rght-brain/left-brain

Norbert is staying where I've been lodging on this Fall tour in Southern California. He volunteers at shopping mall sites where Legos demonstrations are staged, constructing some pretty amazing structures.

I'm always interested in observing how different folks' brains function, a fascination that continues to increase in direct proportion to the evolution of the Illuminations Apprenticeship Program and my ongoing, emerging insights. My intuitive sense is becoming more acute regarding the sudden shift I observe in apprentices (and clients) when they flip from left brain (linear, logical, intellectual, rational thinking) — to right brain (non-linear, creative, intuitive thinking — through which information from "streaming consciousness" is accessed).

As we were chatting, I envisioned Norbert as a young child, playing in the midst of his ka-zillion Legos pieces. I asked him if he remembered seeing creative designs within the piles of pieces before his linear mind could figure out how the pieces would fit together. I've found that very intuitive people are often those who've always seen things...within things — such as clouds, drywall on ceilings, etc.

As I watched Norbert ponder my question, I merged with his timeless consciousness — as I do almost reflexively these days — and saw through his eyes as a small child, where he was (is...beyond time...) playing with his Legos. I could feel his (right brain) imagination running wild.

"Yeah," Norbert replied, "I used to do that..." I sensed that he'd just joined me (in his thoughts) back in his childhood. "I don't do it so much anymore," he said, "...but I guess I can...when I let go." He said he figured that he'd had to become more "logical" in his thinking since he'd become an adult.

As we chatted a bit more, I could tell that Norbert has the ability to observe his thoughts, from the perspective of the soul. "Yes," Norbert confirmed, "I kind of do that...as if in the 3rd person." I found it fascinating to track the mind mechanics of this right-brain/left-brain kinda' guy!
